Ekphrastic writing is made in response to a piece of artwork. For example, it can be a poem jump-started by a painting, a short story inspired by a sculpture, or a micro-essay triggered by a collage. We’ll explore different forms of ekphrasis through writing exercises and prompts — the collections of the Asheville Art Museum as our muses.
